Put simply, hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic treatment. Hypnotherapy can be used to help change habits and address psychological or emotional issues. As your hypnotherapist, I will guide you into a relaxed, trance-like state where suggestions can be more readily accepted to achieve desired changes.
Hypnotherapy is a calm and comfortable process, which begins with me asking you questions about your medical history, your lifestyle and your general health, about what it is that has brought you to see me and, vitally, how your life is affected by this issue. This helps me establish what it is that you wish to achieve and help you understand how your goals can be reached. Hypnotherapy is a very gentle and relaxing way to access those parts of your brain you can use to change whatever it is you want to change. Hypnotherapy is a far step from the showman on stage using hypnosis – it’s not about swinging watches, clicking fingers or even being made to fall asleep. You are conscious, aware and in control during every step of your hypnotherapy session.
Hypnotherapy isn’t just for stopping smoking, or overcoming an addiction. It is successfully used for treating many issues including insomnia, anxiety, stress, weight loss, phobias and much more.
All my treatments use hypnotherapy as the starting point, but I then tailor the treatment to your particular requirements using a combination of other therapies I have trained in, such as BrainWorking Recursive Therapy (which is excellent for people dealing with trauma, or who are ‘stuck’ in a traumatic response) to Psy Tap.
Treatments for some clients and their specific needs are more intensive than others and may take a number of sessions, however some treatments can produce a resolution in a single session. Following our first session, I am able to quickly assess the needs of each individual client and give a strong guidance to how many sessions you are likely to require. Simple habit-breaking treatments, such as for stopping smoking, often require just a single session. For clients seeking my help to overcome trauma, for example, multiple sessions are usual.
I am based in Sale, Cheshire and my clients travel to me from the surrounding areas of Manchester and Cheshire, including Altrincham, Sale, Hale, Timperley, Cheadle, Stockport, Knutsford, Wilmslow and Alderley Edge.
